MISSION

The institute conducts door to door survey of infectious disease tuberculosis under the ‘Project Axshya’ in association with Shramik Gram Vikas Sanstha, Devrukh to identify and counsel the patients. Under this project, the students and faculty, in association with the co-ordinator of Project Axshya, visit some villages of Sangameshwartaluka and collect sputum samples from the suspected people. All the collected samples are sent to tuberculosis diagnostic center for evaluation. The positive cases are referred to primary health unit of Devrukh for further treatment in a confidential manner.
Under the 'Project Axshya', the survey has identified 27 people in two villages suffering from tuberculosis in July 2016. All the patients were referred to the Primary Health Unit (PHU), Devrukh and Sangameshwar for further treatment.
